Fun facts
Wow...have I really been singing all my life?
I pondered this question when someone asked me recently... Well?.. at least most of my life, YES!! I guess when you get to a certain age the time spent doing something continues to grow..So YES, today I can say 97.8% of my time on this planet has been performing/singing.
My singing career has enabled me to travel to memorable places and be a part of many remarkable events, some which were high points and certainly, some low points. The highs? As a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, voting for and attending the Grammy Awards; National Anthem for the LA Lakers and my fav the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake Iowa where the annual Winter Dance Party is held, celebrating the lives and music of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper....And the lows? So many that only one is appropriate to share; ...Performing with The L.A. Party Dolls, my dear sisters in song, Laura and Rosanne always made our performances look seamless and effortless ...This particular event was at Hot August Nights in Downtown Reno....With a port-a-potty for a dressing room, 105 degree heat, the day my "Aunt Flo" was visiting, I sang and danced in a 50s prom dress, wig and black heels. It was so hot that the sun blistered the tops of my toes through my black heels.....ahhh the memories❤️
